About

A place to keep the whole story

Lore Spawner keeps track of the characters, events and places in a story — however large the tapestry gets, and however many people are weaving it.

Worlds outgrow the people telling them

Every shared story starts small enough to hold in your head. Then it runs for a year. A character who left in the second session comes back in the twentieth, carrying something they were given by someone who is no longer at the table, in a city that has changed hands twice since.

Lore Spawner is the memory for that. Every character, every event, every location and every object, with the threads between them kept intact — so the world stays consistent whether it is a month old or a decade old, and whether two people are tending it or two hundred.

Asynchronous world building

Nobody has to be in the same room, or awake at the same hour. Characters in one world can be played at the same time by people all over the globe, each of them taking their turn when their turn suits them.

  1. Players enter their intentions

You say what your character means to do next — where they go, who they look for, what they are hoping will happen.

  2. Storytellers give it context

The people running the world fill in what your character could not have known, weigh it against everything else in motion, and decide what actually happens.

  3. The world remembers

The outcome is recorded as an event, tied to the characters and places it touched, and it is there the next time anyone needs it.

From events to stories

Play produces a great deal of history, and history is not the same thing as a story. Where Lore Spawner is going is the editing that draws a narrative out of what happened: pick the thread, order the events, cut what belonged to the table rather than the tale, and polish it into something that reads. A single universe should yield many stories, told from many sides. That part is being built; play and the record it leaves are what work today.

Somewhere to share them

Finished narratives are meant to be published on Lore Spawner itself, for readers who get a story with a beginning and an end while the world behind it keeps turning. Nothing is published yet — the alpha is for building worlds, not for showing them off.

With or without AI

All of it works with AI assistance, and all of it works without. AI can help a storyteller answer a turn, or a writer tidy a draft, if that is what you want from it. Nothing in Lore Spawner requires it, and no part of your world depends on it.

What you make is yours

The worlds, characters and writing you create on Lore Spawner belong to you. We store them so the app can do its job, we do not hand them to anyone else, and you can export or delete them whenever you ask. The details are on the legal page.

Who is building this

Lore Spawner is made with love in the Netherlands by Kaperkunde, a very small operation with a long-running interest in stories that more than one person gets to tell.
